Tim Coventry & Sohail Chatha – Using the IIBA Agile Extension and the Agile Mindset

Agile business analysis is business analysis in an agile context with an agile mindset. Agile business analysis provides organisations with the competitive advantage to operate and deliver in fast-paced and complex environments and has moved beyond software development initiatives to any business domain. Agile delivery is a business strategy that creates value through fast feedback and short decision cycles.

Iterative planning prioritises and refines the work in short cycles designed to maximize the feedback and learning gained from stakeholders, while adaptive planning involves the continuous change to long-term plans. Constant planning and analysis is used to give focus to the work that delivers the highest value.

Agile approaches deliver value incrementally by slicing the product into smaller pieces, prioritizing them by business value, and delivering new items of value frequently. This incremental delivery allows for rapid feedback, learning and adapting to change.

Learn the following concepts from the IIBA Agile extension:

  • Using the 3 horizons – strategic, initiative and delivery
  • Applying the 7 principles of agile
  • Business analysis with an agile mindset
