Garry Sien – Bridging the Divide between Technology and End Users
This session explores some of the key factors that contributes towards the divide between technology and end users.
We will first look into how technologist and end users define technology, and then dissect where the relationship between technology and end users are changing.
The session will conclude with the practical steps to make technology relevant for the end users and bridge the divide, in particular on leveraging practices such as new ways of work and Human Centre Design (HCD).

Garry Sien – Head of Technology, China at ANZ
Garry is an International Technologist with experience in Retail and Institutional Banking across Asia Pacific. Since relocating to Asia in 2008, he has worked in a number of international locations to master his cultural adaptability by working with teams globally to enable ANZ’s digital agenda.
Based in Shanghai since 2016, Garry is responsible for ANZ China’s digital enablement, including digital transformation, application and infrastructure support, end user experience, information security, risk and assurance.
Prior to his current role, Garry delivered key initiatives in an array of roles across business and technology including business analysis (incl. agile practices), project and portfolio management, customer migration and country implementation.
